Russian Music

Zveri are a Russian pop/rock band who released their debut album Golod (Hunger) in 2003^. Zveri was formed in mid-2002 by Roman Bilyk, the lead singer of the band, better known as Roma Zver. The group was named after his nickname. He was soon joined by Maksim Leonov on guitars, Kostya Labezkiy on the bass, Kirill Antonenko on keyboards and Misha Kraev on the drums and the group began work on their debut album. This album contained many of the group’s best-known songs, such as Dozhdi-Pistolety (Rain-Guns), Dlya Tebya (For You) and Prosto Takaya Sil’naya Lyubov’ (Simply such a strong love).

Agata Kristi is a Russian rock group led by brothers Vadim and Gleb Samoylov, that was established in Sverdlovsk in 1988.

The original band comprises:

• Вадим Самойлов (Vadim Samoylov) — vocals, guitar, bass, lyrics, adaptation, keyboard
• Андрей Котов (Andrey Kotov) — drums, percussion
• Александр Козлов (Aleksandr Kozlov) — keyboard, composer/lyrics (now deceased)

Yulia Savicheva was born on February 14, 1987 and is a Russian singer who performed for Russia in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest which was held in Istanbul, Turkey. Yulia was born in the city of Kurgan to a family of musicians. In September 2007, she had concerts in Japan (Tokyo and Osaka). In February 2008, she released a new album titled “Origami”, which is a Japanese word which means the art of folding paper.

Zemfira Talgatovna Ramazanova was born on August 26, 1976 in Ufa, and is the leader and lead vocalist of the Russian rock group Zemfira. The group was formed in 1998 and has been immensely popular in Russia and other former Soviet republics.

Yelena Terleyeva was born on March 6, 1985 in Surgut, USSR and is a Russian singer, best known for her hit Solnce, which is also the video below. As her mother was a teacher of music, Yelena Terleyeva was exposed to music at an early age. At first she played piano, but a few years later she began to sing.

Vitas was born on February 19, 1981 and is a Latvian-born Russian pop singer, composer, actor and fashion designer. He is most commonly known by his first name Vitas, and much of his music is straightforward pop influenced by techno, and occasionally classical opera.

t.A.T.u. is a Russian Grammy-winning duo formed in Moscow, Russia in 1999. The group consists of Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova. A third Russian studio album, titled Upravleniye Otbrosami is expected for a 2008 release, while their third English studio album, Waste Management, is expected to be released as the soundtrack for the upcoming film You and I.

Philipp Bedrosovich Kirkorov is an Armenian-Bulgarian singer and is one of the top Russian pop singers. He is also the ex-husband of Alla Pugacheva. 

Alla Borisovna Pugacheva was born on April 15, 1949 in Moscow, USSR and is perhaps the best known musical performer in Russia. Her career started in 1965 and continues to this day. She is also among the wealthiest Russia women, her estimated value being in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
